Deer misses jump over fence, gets trapped. How they rescued it

“The deer appeared unharmed and trotted off once released,” the MSP Sixth District said in a post on X on Feb. 9.

Wehler was dispatch to a home in East Grand Rapids at 8:15 a.m. Monday.

The deer had failed to clear the roughly 4-foot-tall fence and caught its left rear leg between two bars along the top. The animal was trapped with its leg awkwardly bent behind it.

Wehler lifted the animal’s head and body off the ground while the homeowner pulled the leg from the fence.
