Michigan State is the new No. 1 team in college hockey.
The Spartans bypassed the Wolverines in the lastest USCHO.com national rankings on Monday.

Michigan had been the No. 1-ranked team for 10 weeks but Michigan State picked up three out of a possible four points against the Wolverines this past weekend.
MSU won Saturday’s “Duel in the D” by a 5-2 score at Little Caesars Arena after dropping a 4-3 overtime decision on Friday at Yost Ice Arena in Ann Arbor.
The Spartans (22-6, 13-5) also took a one-point lead on the Wolverines (23-5, 14-4) in the Big Ten standings.
Michigan State is off this weekend before returning to the ice next week against Notre Dame. Michigan will host Penn State on Friday and Saturday.
Also Monday, Western Michigan remained at No. 4 after taking four of six points at Miami this weekend.
The Broncos are at home this weekend for a series against Arizona State at Lawson Arena.
CCHA defenseman of the week
Michigan Tech’s Jack Anderson was named the CCHA Defenseman of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.
Anderson was named Winter Carnival MVP as he scored the game-winning goal 10:33 into the third period against Miami on Saturday for his second goal of the weekend.
He also had an assist on Saturday and was also plus-4 with seven shots on goal and four blocks defensively, while playing 26:58 minutes per game – the second-highest average in the league.Anderson has 19 points this season on eight goals and 111 assists. He ranks fourth in the nation in goals by a defenseman and fourth in CCHA defenseman points.
Adrian College rises in rankings
Adrian College continued to rise on the national stage as the Bulldogs moved up to No. 3 in this week’s USCHO.com Division III men’s ice hockey poll.
Adrian enters the week with a 17-5-1 overall record, marking its highest ranking of the season.
The Bulldogs completed a conference sweep of Concordia Wisconsin on the weekend and trail only unbeaten Hobart and Hamilton in the rankings.
