Oakland University police are searching for two suspects in the stabbing of a man outside Van Wagoner House, a student residential building on Meadowbrook Road.
University Police Chief Mark Gordon said that numerous people began calling 911 around 8:15 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, to report a fight outside the entrance to the building.
“When officers arrived we found the victim that was in the area of Van Wagoner had suffered from multiple stab wounds from the altercation,” Gordon said at news conference Thursday night. “He was let inside the building by an unknown person and was in need of medical attention.”
Gordon said EMS crews transported the man to McLaren Oakland Hospital, where he was apparently being prepared for surgery. The victim was not a student at the university but may have been visiting one, Gordon said.
The suspects left the area in a dark colored SUV.
Both appear to be men in their early 20s.
One wore a black, North Face jacket, black pants and white shoes with blue on the back of the shoes. The second suspect wore a camouflage jacket with a black hood, black pants and black shoes.
Anyone with information about the fight or the suspects, is asked to call Oakland University police at 248-370-3331.
The attack came just a week after a gunshot was fired inside a dorm at Wayne State University. No one was injured by that shot and those suspects also fled the scene.
