At least eight people were injured when a second-story deck collapsed at a Ponte Vedra Beach home.
Two victims were rushed to a trauma center and six others were taken to local hospitals following the Jan. 25 collapse, St. Johns County Fire Rescue said in a news release posted on Facebook.
All the victims were reported to be in stable condition. No one had been trapped in the debris, the agency posted.
The collapse happened about 12:30 p.m. at a private residence in the 2400 block of South Ponte Vedra Boulevard.
Arriving St. Johns County firefighters immediately initiated Level 1 Mass Casualty Incident protocols due to the number of patients. Firefighters also quickly established triage, treatment, and transport areas.
The cause of the deck collapse is under investigation.
