PANAMA CITY BEACH − Mehdi’s Sports Bar has announced that it will be closing its doors for good.
The announcement came through a Facebook post in which the bar was preparing to say its goodbyes.
“Tonight, we gather for a moment that is both difficult and meaningful. As we close the doors of Mehdis Sports Bar, we are not just closing a business – we are honoring a chapter filled with memories, laughter, hard work, and community,” the post says.
‘Everything Panama City Beach’ also broke the news through Facebook. The bar will celebrate “one last toast” before closing the business down.
“Mehdi’s sports bar is closing!” the post says. “They are inviting you to come out Thursday, January 22 at 2 p.m. for one last toast! Sad to see another longstanding business go.”
Mehdi’s Sports Bar is located 13620 Front Beach Road.
“Mehdi’s Sports Bar was more than a place to watch a game or share a drink,” the Mehdi’s Sports Bar Facebook post says. “It was a place where friendships were formed, victories were celebrated, losses were debated, and people came together as one family. The walls here have heard countless stories, and every table holds a memory.”
“I want to thank everyone who made this place what it was every day with passion and heart, our customers who supported us through good times and challenging times, and our friends and family who believed in this dream from the very beginning,” the post adds. “Thank you for being part of this journey. Thank you for the support, the loyalty, and the love you showed us over the years.”
As of the evening of Jan. 21, the post had 115 reactions and 61 comments.
“So glad I learned about your place from the locals & got to meet you & the rest of the locals!” one commenter wrote. “Good luck & enjoy your best chapter.”
