Metro-North Railroad and Teatown Lake Reservation are teaming up to give bird enthusiasts a glimpse into eagle habitats along the Hudson River for EagleFest 2026.
Guest naturalists will be on board special “Eagle Trains” Saturday, Feb. 7, to transport people to the 22nd annual Hudson River EagleFest at Croton Point Park in Croton-on-Hudson.
One train will depart from Poughkeepsie at 8:58 a.m. and one will depart from Grand Central Terminal at 9:21 a.m. The trains will stop at each local stop on the Hudson Line, and one car will be dedicated on each train for guided birdwatching as visitors make their way to the event.
Cameron Swope, a member of Teatown Lake Reservation and a hobbyist bird watcher will be the featured guest naturalist on the northbound Eagle Train from Grand Central Terminal. Kyle Bardwell, a member of the Putnam Highlands Audubon Society, the Saw Mill River Audubon and Ralph T. Waterman Bird Club will be the guest naturalist on the southbound Eagle Train from Poughkeepsie.
Guests must purchase a regular Metro-North Hudson Line ticket to Croton-Harmon station to ride. However, tickets for the train ride do not include EagleFest admission.
