A Northside dive bar will be closing its doors for the winter and it may not reopen.
Good Judy’s celebrates queer culture through regularly scheduled Drag and LGBTQIA+ entertainment events, according to its Facebook page. In a recent social media post, the bar announced its closure as it seeks to sell the venue to a new owner.
The current owner is moving on with opportunities that will require frequent out-of-state travel, “making it impractical to continue running the bar,” according to the Facebook announcement.
The Enquirer called and left messages requesting an interview with the bar’s owner but did not get a response.
“Many of us hope that the next owner will possibly maintain and grow with some of the events that Good Judy’s community have already developed here,” the post reads. “We also recognize a sale may bring new ideas and a new concept for the space.”
Good Judy’s held its grand opening in January 2020, according to a Facebook event and a flier posted on the bar’s Instagram.
The post asks people interested in purchasing the bar at 4169 Hamilton Ave. to get in touch with the owner at 513-384-8708. Monthly rent and utilities combined total around $2,000 per month not including an Ohio liquor license.
