Third-year starting quarterback Jordan Love has never known a Green Bay Packers season that ended shy of the playoffs, something his two Hall of Fame predecessors cannot boast.
Neither made the postseason in their first year as full-time starter – Aaron Rodgers in 2008 and Brett Favre in 1992. Of course, both went on long playoff runs in the years thereafter, and both won a Super Bowl at age 27.
Guess how old Love is?
With the Packers about to begin a new postseason journey Jan. 10, here’s a look back at Love’s 2025 season:
What were Jordan Love’s stats in 2025?
Love’s 2025 statistics were similar to his 2024 season, which might not be a ringing endorsement, since that season started on the wrong foot with a knee injury, and he perhaps never reached expected heights.
But Love raised his completion percentage from 63% to 66% this year and finished with a quarterback rating north of 101. It helped that he only threw six interceptions (after 11 each of the last two years), despite holding the third-highest-average depth of target (generally speaking, how far he throws the ball) among quarterbacks with at least 500 snaps.
Love completed 291 of 439 attempts (66.3%) for 3,381 yards and 23 touchdowns. He played in 15 games, the same as last year, when he completed 268 of 425 passes (63.1%) for 3,389 yards and 25 touchdowns.
In his rookie year, Love completed 372 of 579 (64.2%) for 4,159 yards, with 32 touchdowns and 11 interceptions, in 17 games.
Love ran 47 times for 199 yards and zero touchdowns this season. Last year, he understandably ran less with the injury (25 carries, 83 yards, one touchdown) and ran a little bit more two years ago (50 carries, 247 yards, four touchdowns).
His teams have won nine games with Love as starter all three years. That was good for a 9-8 record in 2023, 9-6 last year and 9-5-1 this year.
His quarterback rating the past three seasons has gone steadily up: 96.1 as a rookie, 96.7 last year and 101.2 this year.
Where did Jordan Love rank among NFL leaders in 2025?
Love has still never been invited to a Pro Bowl, but he’s been among the best quarterbacks in the league by several metrics.
His 225.4 passing yards per game, however, ranked 15th among quarterbacks with at least eight games played this year. His 23 touchdowns tied for 14th, and his completion percentage ranked 14th.
But he also ranked sixth in quarterback rating, behind Drake Maye, Matthew Stafford, Jared Goff, Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen. He ranked third behind Maye and Brock Purdy in ESPN’s QBR stat, and advanced stats that measure quarterback efficiency pretty consistently see Love as a top-three quarterback in football. He ranks second behind likely MVP winner Maye in “expected points added.”
What is Jordan Love’s record in the playoffs?
The Packers have gone 1-2 in playoff games Love has started. His postseason debut in Dallas after the 2023 season is the stuff of legend, when he came away with a near-perfect passer rating in a 48-32 shellacking of the Cowboys.
After that came a close 24-21 loss to San Francisco, followed last year by a convincing 22-10 loss in the wild-card round to eventual Super Bowl champion Philadelphia.
Love finished with a bad line against the Eagles, completing 20 of 33 passes (60.6%) for 212 yards, zero touchdowns and three interceptions. He completed 21 of 34 (61.8%) for 194 yards and two touchdowns but also two interceptions against San Francisco. Against Dallas, he completed 16 of 21 (76.2%) for 272 yards, three touchdowns and zero picks.
Is Jordan Love playing? Is he healthy for the playoffs?
Love missed the final two weeks of the season after sustaining a concussion at Soldier Field in Chicago, forcing him out of the first half in that eventual loss. Backup Malik Willis started the next week in Baltimore and, though Love had cleared the concussion protocol, the team kept him on the sideline for a meaningless finale in Minnesota. Coach Matt LaFleur said Love could have gone into the game but would have merely handed the football off to avoid any risk of more injury.
Love also missed two games last year after a knee injury in the season opener in Brazil against the Eagles. The Packers won both subsequent games with Willis under center. Willis played well this year, too, but the Packers choked away a late lead in Chicago and then couldn’t slow down Baltimore’s running game in a lopsided loss. The Packers didn’t use Willis in the finale.
What were some of Jordan Love’s highlights in 2025?
Let’s find some of his best passes this season:
Sept. 28 vs. Dallas Cowboys to Romeo Doubs: This marked a nice return to the scene of Love’s playoff conquest, and he was again carving up the defense inside the Cowboys’ stadium. The quick fade from the 2-yard line marked the first of three touchdowns for Doubs in Dallas in Week 4, though the teams would finish tied.
Oct. 26 vs. Pittsburgh Steelers to Tucker Kraft: With the pressure bearing down on him and Green Bay on its own 15-yard line, Love threw off his back foot and somehow found Kraft, who then rumbled for a bevy of yards after catch for a 59-yard gain. The Packers rallied from a 16-7 deficit and won, 35-25. Kraft caught two touchdowns in the “Sunday Night Football” game against ex-Packers starter Aaron Rodgers, and Love threw for 360 yards.
Nov. 27 vs. Detroit Lions to Christian Watson: Once Watson returned from injury, Love had a major new weapon to work with. Watson got a step on his man, and Love found him for a perfect 51-yard touchdown connection to give the Packers a lead on Thanksgiving, part of Love’s four-touchdown performance.
But was it even Love’s best touchdown pass of the game? What about this fourth-down beauty to Dontayvion Wicks in the end zone?
Nov. 16 vs. New York Giants to Watson: From the week before, the distance was shorter (17 yards), but the degree of difficulty for the go-ahead score was much greater.
Dec. 7 vs. Chicago Bears to Bo Melton: The 45-yard strike landed perfectly in the arms of Melton down the middle of the field. Melton is one of 10 players to catch a touchdown this season from Love.
Dec. 14 vs. Denver to Josh Jacobs: Touchdown catches from running backs aren’t usually this level of highlight reel. This was the final Love touchdown pass of the season, however.
