The deadline to file as a candidate for local school board elections was 5 p.m. June 6. Filings show that primaries will be needed in at least a few suburban Milwaukee school districts.
Primaries will be held Feb. 17 in three area districts. The general election will be April 7.
In the Hamilton School District in Waukesha County, three candidates are running for the board’s at-large seat.
In the Oak Creek-Franklin School District in southern Milwaukee County, five candidates are running for two available seats.
In the K-8 Swallow School District in northwestern Waukesha County, three candidates have decided to run for the one available seat.
No school board seats are up for election this year in Milwaukee Public Schools.
