For the second time in a span of four weeks, the Los Angeles Rams suffered a gut-wrenching loss. And for the second time in four weeks, they’ll be looking to bounce back in a big way.
Following their one-point overtime loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday night, the Rams are heavily favored over the Atlanta Falcons in Week 17. According to BetMGM, the Rams are eight-point favorites against the Falcons.
As of now, it’s the second-largest spread of the week, with only the Broncos being bigger favorites over the Chiefs; Denver is giving 13 points.
The Rams rebounded from their Week 13 loss to the Panthers by beating the Arizona Cardinals, 45-17, in Week 14. They should be equally motivated and angry heading into this game as they were in Week 14 after giving up the No. 1 seed again, so the Falcons could feel a similar wrath to what the Cardinals experienced a few weeks ago.
The over/under in this game is 49.5 points and the Rams are -500 on the money line, which gives them an implied win probability of 83.3%.
The Rams are currently the fifth seed in the NFC after losing to the Seahawks on Thursday night, pushing Seattle into the top spot in the conference. Even if the Rams win out, they’re not guaranteed to get back the No. 1 seed or win the NFC West.
They’ll need the Bears, Seahawks and 49ers all to lose at least one more game in order for the Rams to climb back to the top.
