What did Corpus Christi read this year? See 2025 top library checkouts

Across Corpus Christi and Nueces County, library users were busy this year, checking out hundreds of thousands of books and digital materials.

But what were the most popular items checked out from the library this year?

Here are Corpus Christi library users’ top reads

The Caller-Times requested the top reads for 2025 from Corpus Christi Public Libraries. The library system shared the top five checkouts from Jan. 1 through Dec. 14 in a variety of categories.

Top five children’s books

Top five teen books

Top five DVDs/Blu-Rays

Top five adult and young adult fiction books

Top five adult and young adult nonfiction books

Top five audiobooks

Top five e-books

Additionally, the library system shared that across six library branches, Corpus Christi Public Libraries welcomed 378,095 visitors during fiscal year 2025, which ran from Oct. 1, 2024, to Sept. 30, 2025. The libraries circulated a record 844,079 items, including books, media and digital materials.

Top reads at Nueces County Public Libraries

In a Dec. 10 Facebook post, Nueces County Public Libraries outlined the community’s top items of 2025 in a video in the style of Spotify Wrapped.

The county library system reported 43,296 visitors this year and said that patrons checked out 68,522 physical copies and 160,333 digital items. The video estimates that this saved Nueces County residents more than $3.4 million compared to if they had bought the items themselves.
