The FSU Seminoles have suffered their first loss since firing defensive backs coach Patrick Surtain Sr. Four-star cornerback Bryce Williams decommitted from the program on Tuesday, according to Hayes Fawcett of Rivals.
Williams is from Fort Lauderdale and was a member of FSU’s 2027 recruiting class. He had been committed to FSU since April 1, when he committed on a visit. The 6-foot-2, 175-pounder has visited Tallahassee four times this year, including for their games against the Alabama Crimson Tide and Miami Hurricanes in Doak Campbell Stadium.

He is ranked as the No. 225 overall player and No. 23 cornerback in the 247Sports composite. He is also the No. 21 player from Florida.
His departure leaves FSU with four commitments in its 2027 recruiting class. Four-star safety Mekhi Williams is their top-ranked commit, with four-star linebacker Gregoruy Batson giving them two blue-chip commits.
While the Seminoles still have safeties coach Evan Cooper on staff, they have yet to hire a replacement for Surtain, who was one of the better recruiters on the staff and did well in Florida. He is already FSU’s third decommitment in the 2027 cycle. Four-star cornerback Jaylen Scott and three-star athlete Kaneilius Purdy have also backed off early pledges to them
