After snow storm, will Columbus garbage schedule change?

The overnight snowfall made for some pretty pictures and pretty treacherous roadways in central Ohio, but it should not make for delayed trash collection for Columbus residents.

Debbie Briner, spokesperson for the Columbus Department of Public Service, said no trash collection delays are expected on Dec. 2 and pickups should be completed by late afternoon.

Briner asked residents to pull back their trash container after collection so that city snowplows have more room to work on residential streets.

Columbus changed pickup dates in September

In September, Columbus changed pickup dates for about half of the households in the city in an effort to rebalance the city’s trash routes and manage the city’s growth.

Columbus residents can check if their route will change using the city’s PickUp CBUS smartphone app. Residents can also use the Collection Day Lookup tool on the city’s website to see how their trash schedule has changed.

The full-color collection schedule is available online here.

If you still need help figuring out when your garbage will be picked up, you can use the city’s Collection Day Lookup or call the city’s Color Collection Hotline numbers listed below.
