Micah Parsons played his first four seasons with the Dallas Cowboys, meaning the All-Pro pass-rusher knows a thing or two about playing on Thanksgiving. The Cowboys, like the Detroit Lions, play on Thanksgiving every season. And Parsons, who will play his first Thanksgiving Day game with the Green Bay Packers on Thursday at Ford Field, has been a dominant player on the holiday to start his NFL career.
Can Parsons feast again on Thanksgiving against the Lions?
Through four career Thanksgiving Day games, Parsons has 6.0 sacks, 14 quarterback hits and 31 total pressures. He produced at least one sack, five pressures and a pass-rush grade at PFF of at least 80.0 in all four games.
Micah Parsons career on Thanksgiving
Last year, Parsons was awarded the “Madden Thanksgiving MVP Trophy” after wrecking the game against the Giants at AT&T Stadium.
Parsons credited his incredible energy and relentless mentality for playing so well on the short week.
“I have an advantage, no doubt in my mind. I have that advantage. The mentality of we’re all hurt, we’re all banged up, but who’s going to play harder,” Parsons said Wednesday.
It sounds like Dan Campbell is ready for the challenge.
“He’s a great player. I like our tackles. I like our offensive line,” Campbell said.
