Slender Man stabbing defendant Morgan Geyser is back in custody in Waukesha County, four days after her escape from a Madison group home.
Waukesha County Sheriff’s Lt. Nicholas Wenzel said Geyser was in custody at the Waukesha County Jail shortly after 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 26.
She was brought there by officials from Cook County, Illinois, said Hillary Mintz, a Waukesha County spokeswoman.
A day earlier, Geyser, 23, appeared before a Cook County judge and waived extradition, agreeing to go back to Wisconsin, where she faces escape charges.
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services filed a petition on Nov. 26 to revoke the conditional release Geyser was granted earlier this year, online court records show.
A motion hearing on that petition is set for Dec. 22.
It was in Waukesha County 11 years ago that Geyser and co-defendant Anissa Weier tried to kill their friend and classmate, Payton Leutner.
Geyser and Weier were charged with attempted first-degree homicide in the 2014 attack. Prosecutors say the two were trying to appease “Slender Man,” a faceless, fictional online character that developed a cult-like following.
Geyser stabbed Leutner stabbed 19 times. All three girls were 12 years old at the time.
Geyser and Weier were found not guilty by reason of mental defect or disease in 2017 and sentenced to mental confinement — Weier for 25 years and Geyser for 40 years.
Geyser was granted conditional release when a judge said he saw no risk to the public or to herself, and was placed in a group home in Madison.
She was found Nov. 23, a day after she fled the group home, with 43-year-old Chad “Charly” Mecca sleeping behind a truck stop in Posen, Illinois.
