The Bucs in the NFL Draft have been on a heater thanks to the work of Jason Licht and his staff. They have done so well that they have seen people even depart to get their own teams to run, like assistant turned full-time general manager for the Las Vegas Raiders, John Spytek.
Despite all their recent success, the injury bug has derailed their season as they have dropped from 5-1 at one point to 6-5 after Week 12.
That being said, they have made some surprising picks in recent years, and because of that the needs on the roster remain the same for the most part. For them specifically, the pass rush is a need, but so are some other positions where playmakers could come in handy. Bleacher Report’s Scouting Department went through all the team needs for every NFL team, and in the Bucs’ case, they see tight end as the latest position of need.
To fit that potential hole, they listed Georgia’s Oscar Delp, Ole Miss’ Dae’Quan Wright, and Cincinnati’s Joe Royer. All three of them could provide a unique spark, but Delp fits what the Bucs like most. He is very much built in the same light as Cade Otton so if they cannot get an extension done it would make sense for them to target Delp.
