Texas A&M’s women’s basketball program learned its Southeastern Conference opponents for the upcoming 2025-2026 season, as the full slate was announced by the league on Tuesday.
Heading into her fourth year at the helm for the Aggies, head coach Joni Taylor will host Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, LSU, Mississippi State, Oklahoma, South Carolina and Vanderbilt in the squad’s eight home games this season. Six of the eight home opponents appeared in the NCAA Tournament in 2024, with the Gamecocks making it to the national championship.
There will be many new faces on this year’s roster, as only three players return after finishing last year’s campaign 10-19 (3-13 in SEC play). One of the most athletic women’s basketball players in the country is returning for her senior season in Bryan-College Station, Texas, as the 6-foot-5-inch forward Lauren Ware will suit up in the Maroon and White uniform after ranking third in the SEC with 1.75 blocks per game in 2024.
Taylor added seven transfers in the offseason in hopes of combating the loss of production. The portal class included Fatmata Janneh, who led the country with 9.7 defensive rebounds per game last season, and Ny’Ceara Pryor, who was named the MAAC’s Defensive Player of the Year.
