The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a hit-and-run that claimed a woman’s life the morning of Nov. 20.
A vehicle, possibly a red SUV, was traveling east on Old Bagdad Highway approaching Rice Road at approximately 6 a.m.
A woman walking near the shoulder of the roadway was struck by the vehicle, and the driver fled the scene. The woman was pronounced dead on scene.
The roadway was closed for approximately two hours as FHP investigators canvassed the area and seized a SUV that may have been involved in the crash, a FHP news release said.
FHP investigators are continuing to investigate this fatal traffic crash and requesting that have anyone with information concerning this crash contact Cpl. Durham at 850-484-5000.
