The Abilene Police Department is putting drivers on notice that ramped up traffic enforcement will continue through 2025, according to a media release Monday.
The stepped-up enforcement will focus on helping change driving habits and making roads safer for all drivers will zeroing in on certain parts of town, Rick Tomlin, public information coordinator, said in a media release.

“Selected officers will target specific areas of Abilene by increasing enforcement for a month-to-month period through a grant provided by the Texas Department of Transportation,” Tomlin said.
The ramped-up enforcement will focus on several areas in Abilene, including the Winters Freeway and the South First corridor, Tomlin said.
Officers will focus on driving factors including:
“Abilene Police want to remind all drivers to practice defensive driving habits and slow down while on our roadways,” Tomlin said.
