More than two inches of snow fell in Cincinnati on Nov. 10, the most recorded on that date, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.
The weather service says 2.1 inches of snow was measured in Cincinnati, a record-setting amount of snow for Nov. 10. The next-highest amount of snow on this day in November was in 1948 when 0.3 inches fell, the weather service said.
To the north, another record was also set. In Dayton, 3.6 inches of snow was recorded, according to the weather service. The next-closest record snowfall for this day was 0.2 inches in 1960.
The first snowfall of the season brought between 1 to 3 inches of snow to Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky, according to the weather service.
Most of that snowfall accumulated on grassy and elevated surfaces. Some roads saw slick stretches but cleared up by the late afternoon when the sun broke out.
Cold temperatures are expected to linger throughout the first half of the week, according to the weather service forecast.
