Texas Tech football climbs national rankings after toppling Kansas State

Another impressive win on the road has the Texas Tech football team moving up in the national rankings once again.

The Red Raiders moved up to No. 9 in the US LBM Coaches Poll, released Sunday, up four spots from their No. 13 ranking last week. Their next opponent, BYU, is ranked eighth, making Saturday’s game a Top 10 showdown in Jones AT&T Stadium.

Other Big 12 teams ranked in the poll include Utah (19th) and Cincinnati (25th). The Utes manhandled the Bearcats in Salt Lake City late Saturday night to hand Cincinnati its first Big 12 Conference loss of the season.

Texas Tech and BYU hold the same rankings in the Associated Press Top 25, coming in No. 9 and No. 8, respectively.
