Final: Racine Case 31, Kenosha Bradford 20
After Bradford came up with a defensive stand deep in its own territory, Case’s defense responded with a 10-yard interception return for a touchdown and an 11-point lead with 5:13 left.
Final: Homestead 27, West Bend West 20
A 1-yard plunge by quarterback Lee Zortman on a tush push with 1:38 remaining made the Highlanders the undefeated North Shore champs.

The Warriors are the outright Classic 8 Conference champions. What a performance from the Warriors.
End 3Q: Case 24, Bradford 20
A 14-yard touchdown run at the 10:14 mark put the Eagles ahead 21-13. Bradford marched down to Case’s 10 but the quarterback fumbled on a rollout and the Eagles recovered and took it all the way down the the Red Devils’ 10. A holding penalty on first down by Case pushed the ball back to the 20, and the Eagles eventually settled for a 22-yard field goal and a 24-13with 3:22 to go. Bradford scored with 57 second to go in the period to get back within 24-20.
End 3Q: Muskego 35, Mukwonago 14
Mukwonago gets touchdowns from Colton Lynch and Max Baehman, but it’s still Muskego with a three-score lead heading to the fourth and final quarter.
End 3Q: Homestead 14, West Bend West 13
Neither team was able to put up points but Homestead were facing a 2-and-1 at the Spartans 10 as time expired.
Halftime: Racine Case 14, Kenosha Bradford 13

Case went back on top, 14-7, on a 4-yard run with 2:03 to go. Bradford had enough time to march down the field and score on an 11-yard pass play with 18 seconds to go but the extra point failed as Case held onto the lead.
Halftime: Muskego, 35, Mukwonago 0
Oh my.In one of the most shocking scores across the state tonight, Muskego leads Mukwonago, 35-0.Jackson Niemiec has four, count ‘em, four touchdowns for Muskego in three different ways. He’s ran, caught and returned a punt for a touchdown all in the first half. What a dominating display for Muskego tonight through a half.
Halftime: Homestead 14, West Bend West 13
After stopping the Highlanders on a four-and-2 play early in the second quarter, the Spartans finally got the ball moving and scored on a 1-yard plunge from Collin Grass to even the score at 7-7. But Homestead went right back on top on an 87-yard kickoff return for a 14-7 lead. The Spartans’ Xander Collier scored on a 4-yard pass play with 17 seconds left but the extra point was no good, leaving Homestead in front, 14-13 at the break.
End 1Q: Racine Case 7, Kenosha Bradford 0
After Case missed a 40-yard field attempt, its defense set the Eagles right back up by recovering a fumble at their own 32. The Eagles took advantage of the turnover and scored on a 10-yard pass on fourth-and goal with 1:01 remaining in the quarter to take a 7-0 lead.
End 1Q: Muskego 21, Mukwonago 0
Uhh, wow. It’s a three-touchdown lead for the visitors in one of the biggest games across the state tonight. Two Jackson Niemiec touchdowns, one on a 54-yard touchdown catch on 3rd-and-18, and two Warrior takeaways on defense have the Classic 8 leaders in firm control of this one after one quarter.
End of first: Homestead 7, West Bend West 0
The Highlanders strike first when Lee Zortman went 54 yards on a quarterback on fourth-and-two with 9:54 for an early 7-0 lead. After forcing a punt, Homestead are on the march again after overcoming a fourth-and-16 on a scramble by Zortman just before the quarter ended.
Milwaukee area teams in the WIAA football playoff field entering Week 9
Milwaukee area high school football programs are jockeying for playoff positions as the WIAA regular season enters its final week. While it is a bit more complicated than simply “win and in” for teams on the bubble entering Week 9, we have a good sense of where teams stand based on the official WIAA preliminary qualifying report through Week 8 results.
Under the new playoff matrix implemented by the WIAA Board of Control in February, four conference wins is no longer the threshold for postseason qualification. Wins both inside and outside a team’s conference count toward a scoring system that weighs them based on division level of the opponent defeated, as well as that defeated opponent’s strength of defeated programs. Those two factors form a two-tier playoff qualifying score that is put against the rest of the teams in that division to determine playoff seeding. The top four scores in each division receive a No. 1 seed, with No. 2 through No. 8 seeds awarded by a combination of playoff qualifying score and travel time factors.
Here is the current playoff field entering Week 9 of the regular season
