NOVI – Michigan’s third Paris Baguette Bakery Cafe is freshly open at 42768 Grand River in the Sakura Novi complex.

Just two days after an Oct. 8 “soft” opening, the franchise’s newest addition was drawing dozens of bread and pastry connoisseurs through the doors to breathe in sweet aromas and gaze upon the wide array of treats lined up in glass cases – from croissants, scones and pizza, to doughnuts, tarts, cakes and more.
“We want customers to experience everything,” said Pramod Patnam, an investor in the Novi Paris Baguette location. “We are happy to see you, and happier to serve you.”
He and Krishna Ramamoorthy, CEO and owner of the Novi Paris Baguette, are both South Lyon residents who have additional locations for the bakery cafe planned including Rochester Hills and Sterling Heights. They were drawn to the brand, which got its start in South Korea in the late 1980s and now has roughly 4,000 locations worldwide, with more than 250 in the United States, by its focus on freshness.
“The biggest selling point is everything is freshly made everyday,” said Ramamoorthy, who first fell in love with Paris Baguette in the city it is named for several years ago. “We are customer-service oriented and this is fresh, world-class food. The same experience I had in Paris, you will have it here.”
While Paris Baguette is inspired by French baking and cuisine, an Asian twist with soft dough recipes pays homage to its South Korean origins, Ramamoorthy said, “a perfect fusion of east and west baking skills.”
The bakers at Paris Baguette in Novi arrive at the 3,000-square-foot cafe around 2 a.m. and start baking everything the store will have on hand for the day – more than 300 varieties of items, baked by the dozens, or hand-crafted to include sandwiches, salads, wraps and fruit bowls. The store opens at 6 a.m. and customers begin selecting their goodies, using tongs to place items on trays and ordering hot and cold Lavazza coffees and teas and other beverages at the counter.
Paris Baguette in Novi is open until 10 p.m. everyday and and anything not sold within 24 hours of being made is donated to Hospitality House Food Pantry, which serves those in need in Oakland and Wayne counties.
A grand opening celebration planned for Oct. 23 will feature a surprise gift for the first 100 customers, a street festival party at 3 p.m., and coupons and discount codes for all attendees.
“Novi is the perfect blend of diversity that represents America and we are so lucky to be here and serve the community,” Ramamoorthy said.
