New York Times columnist, 'PBS NewsHour' contributor David Brooks to speak at Earlham in November

RICHMOND, IN — A New York Times op-ed columnist, “PBS NewsHour” contributor, bestselling author and conservative commentator will be speaking at Earlham College in November.

David Brooks’ talk at Earlham, part of its Artist and Lecture Series, will take place at Goddard Auditorium in Carpenter Hall on Thursday, Nov. 20.

Brooks is the author of six books, including his latest bestseller, “How to Know a Person,” holds more than 30 honorary degrees, and is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.

“Brooks is known for his thoughtful analysis of American culture, politics and character,” the announcement said. “His latest bestseller “How to Know a Person” explores the art of understanding others and forming deeper connections.”

The announcement was made in the Fall 2025 edition of the Earlhamite, the college’s quarterly magazine.
