New York Giants work out former Green Bay Packers draft pick

The New York Giants have placed wide receiver Malik Nabers on season-ending injury reserve (IR) following his torn ACL in Week 4, and now they are on the hunt for replacements.

With an open spot on their roster, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports that Samori Toure is among their free agent workouts.

The 27-year-old Toure was a seventh-round pick of the Green Bay Packers in the 2022 NFL draft out of Nebraska. He spent the first two seasons of his career at Lambeau Field before joining the Chicago Bears in 2024.

The 6-foot-1, 196-pound Toure, who was waived as part of final cuts in August, has appeared in 22 career games (two starts), hauling in 13 receptions for 160 yards and one touchdown. He has taken only three career snaps on special teams.

One of Toure’s best career games came against the Giants in 2024 when he caught two receptions on four targets for 22 yards, one first down, and a career-high 13 yards after the catch.

It’s unclear who else worked out for the Giants.

In unrelated roster moves, the Giants released linebacker Tomon Fox and subsequently re-signed him to their practice squad.
