Crash ruptures gas line in Palm Desert; nearby hotel temporarily evacuated

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a two-vehicle collision in Palm Desert that resulted in a ruptured natural gas line on Friday, Sept. 19.

Cal Fire reported the incident was reported at 5:24 p.m. in the 74-000 block of Abronia Trail. One person sustained minor injuries. No other injures were reported.

Southern California Gas Company was requested to repair the ruptured gas line. An adjacent hotel, which Cal Fire did not identify, was temporarily evacuated in an abundance of caution.
