Is there a rocket launch today? SpaceX plans Falcon 9 missions in California

SpaceX still has a slew of missions in the works for the remainder of September in Southern California.

Falcon 9 rockets, the commercial spaceflight company’s famous two-stage spacecraft, are due to lift off at least three more times so far before the month is out from the Vandenberg Space Force Base in Santa Barbara County. Of those missions, two are Starlink satellite deployments, while the third is a government-contracted mission with SpaceX, which billionaire Elon Musk founded in 2002.

Californians – and Arizonans – making their rocket launch viewing plans should keep in mind that lots can change between now and when each rocket is expected to lift off, as delays in spaceflight are common. Be sure to visit VC Star for the latest mission updates.

In the meantime, here’s your weekly look at the upcoming launch schedule for the remainder of September at the Vandenberg Space Force Base.

Wednesday, Sept. 17: Starlink 17-12

Sunday, Sept. 21: NROL-48

Wednesday, Sept. 24: Starlink 17-11
