Well, finally, yours truly has bragging rights.
But likely for just one week in our high school football picks.

I somehow managed to go 18-2 in week 3 to overtake content coach Austin Hough for the best record so far. Missed calls were Northridge losing to Plymouth and Buchanan falling short to Coloma.
Hough and sportswriter Kyle Smedley each posted a 15-5 mark for week 3 picks.
I now lead the overall standings at 41-16 with Hough right behind at 40-17 and Smedley at 37-20.
Here are our week four picks as I hope to extend my lead on my two distinguished colleagues.
AUSTIN HOUGH PICKS
INDIANA GAMES
LaVille 35, Bremen 17: Lancers do enough to win INSC opener.
Fairfield 35, Culver Academies 10: Nice bounce-back spot here for the Falcons after losing to Jimtown last week.
Plymouth 28, Goshen 12: Rockies make it two NLC wins in a row over a game RedHawk squad.
Jimtown 35, John Glenn 28: Just like last year, the Jimmies are finding their stride after a tough couple of opening weeks.
LaPorte 15, Chesterton 8: Slicers grind out a road DAC game.
Michigan City 28, Valparaiso 27: Call this my upset pick of the week. I’m ready to believe in the Wolves.
Mishawaka 42, NorthWood 28: High-scoring game, but the Cavemen look strong right now.
South Bend Saint Joseph 28, Marian 21: Toughest test of the season for the Huskies so far, but they pass it at home.
Concord 42, Northridge 10: Perfect chance for the Minutemen to bounce back after heartbreaking loss to Mishawaka last week.
Penn 49, South Bend Washington 7: Give Washington credit for pushing Elkhart more than expected last week, but the Kingsmen are too good here.
South Bend Adams 21, New Prairie 20: The Eagles find a way to pull off an “upset” over the Cougars.
Elkhart 28, South Bend Riley 14: Even though I’m taking the Lions, I can see the Wildcats hanging with them throughout.
Triton 49, South Central 3: The Trojans keep on cruising.
MICHIGAN GAMES
Niles 42, Paw Paw 14: The full Vikings offense gets unleashed to start Wolverine Conference play.
Saugatuck 28, Brandywine 7: Bobcats can be competitive here, but will be hard to win.
Buchanan 35, Pennfield 21: The Bucks have great vibes to start this season. They continue here.
Dowagiac 42, Benton Harbor 0: No sweat for the Chieftains here.
Edwardsburg 40, Sturgis 12: The Eddies never left technically, but they feel fully back after that St. Joseph win last week.

Jimtown 27, John Glenn 13: Glenn loses its third straight game, and the Jimmies defense impresses.

Penn 56, South Bend Washington 9: The Kingsmen prove why they’re one of the best teams in Class 6A, moving to 4-0.
New Prairie 28, South Bend Adams 21: The Cougars get their first win of the season in a back-and-forth game with the Eagles.
Elkhart 27, South Bend Riley 13: The Wildcats give the Lions a brief scare before Elkhart runs away with its third straight win.
Triton 48, South Central 6: The Trojans score six touchdowns in a dominant home performance.

Niles 28, Paw Paw 7: The Vikings move to 3-0 by beating Paw Paw for the sixth-straight time.
Saugatuck 35, Brandywine 15: Saugatuck wins second straight game as the Bobcats fall to 1-2.
Buchanan 29, Pennfield 17: Buchanan gets off to its first 3-0 start since 2020 with a home win.
Dowagiac 35, Benton Harbor 0: The Chieftains pitch a shutout as a response to their Week 2 loss.
