Amazon opens $75M Ogden facility, now operates 4 sites in Monroe County: See locations

Amazon opened its newest facility in Monroe County — a $75 million sortation center in Ogden — bringing the tech and logistics giant’s total local presence to four facilities.

What is a sortation center?

Sortation centers are key links in Amazon’s delivery network. Packages shipped from fulfillment centers are organized at the centers based on their final destinations before being sent to “last-mile” delivery stations. The 208,000-square-foot facility on Shepard Road currently employs 150 workers in full- and part-time roles.

Support and incentives for expansion

Monroe County Executive Adam Bello praised the project, calling it “a shining example of COMIDA’s vital role and success in attracting significant companies and large-scale projects like Amazon’s new facility to our community.”

The Ogden facility received $18.26 million in tax incentives through the County of Monroe Industrial Development Agency (COMIDA).
