Cheboygan boys soccer senior Brady Lockwood was voted by readers as the Cheboygan Daily Tribune’s Athlete of the Week for Sept. 2-6.
Lockwood won this week’s poll by capturing 60 percent of the vote, while Inland Lakes junior football player Landon Fenstermaker was second with 27.82 pecent.
The poll, which opened on Monday and closed on Thursday night, saw over 15,000 votes cast.
Here were this week’s nominees:
Daniel Harke, Cheboygan Football – Recorded 10 tackles, a sack and a fumble recovery at Charlevoix.
Brady Lockwood, Cheboygan Boys Soccer – Scored two goals and tallied an assist at Kalkaska.
Landon Fenstermaker, Inland Lakes Football – Finished with five tackles, three sacks and four tackles for loss defensively, while also rushing for two touchdowns against Brethren.
Knox Wilson, Mackinaw City Cross Country – Earned third place (18:44) at the first Northern Lakes Conference jamboree in Wolverine.
Lelin Splan, Onaway Football – Rushed for 215 yards and two scores and added seven tackles defensively against Bellare.
Brady Bonter, Pellston Football – Rushed for 145 yards and two touchdowns offensively and recorded a tackle and eight sacks defensively at Engadine.
