While fans should look forward to and be excited about watching the Los Angeles Lakers this season, they also shouldn’t forget about the franchise’s G League affiliate. The South Bay Lakers will be intriguing thanks to a few promising prospects they have.
Of course, all eyes will continue to be on Bronny James, the son of LeBron James, who is coming off a promising regular season last year as a rookie. But South Bay will also have a number of other interesting young players to watch, including the franchise’s undrafted rookies and possibly forward Adou Thiero, whom the organization traded for the draft rights to in June.
South Bay’s schedule for the 2025-26 campaign is now out.
Of course, fans are hoping that at least one of South Bay’s players will get called up to the big league Lakers. In particular, several analysts are predicting that the younger James will not only get called up but also crack the big club’s rotation.
He averaged 21.9 points on 44.3% field-goal shooting and 38% 3-point shooting, 5.1 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 1.9 steals for South Bay during the 2024-25 regular season. The solid showing that the 20-year-old guard had during July’s Las Vegas summer league has given many some real hope that he’s poised to take a significant step forward in the months to come.
