Latest 2026 NFL Mock Draft has the Buccaneers taking a familiar position

The 2026 NFL Draft will take place in Pittsburgh next April, a city where the Bucs found success this preseason with a last-second field goal to defeat the Steelers. Before next April, though, there will be plenty of speculation and buildup for the team and who they may add to the roster through the draft.

CBS Sports’ Ryan Wilson recently released the latest 2026 NFL mock draft of the cycle. Within it, the Bucs were once again attached to a position in which the team has given a lot of attention to recently. After drafting wide receiver Emeka Egbuka in the first round in April’s draft, Wilson predicts them taking another in Washington wide receiver Denzel Boston.

Wilson writes, “Boston has a huge catch radius, soft hands and surprising YAC wiggle. He’s a smooth route runner who flashes urgency out of his breaks, is an asset in the screen game because he has the ability to win in small areas and can run through arm tackles anywhere on the field.”

In this scenario, if the Bucs do go wide receiver in round one again, it has to be because Mike Evans retired or left in free agency.

Boston has a lot of talent, obviously, to go around one in a mock draft, but this seems like a pick that is too rich even for general manager Jason Licht. The team has so many needs on defense, they eventually have to invest, and in 2026, it seems like the team is right to do that, finally, especially if linebacker Lavonte David retires like so many are predicting.
