One dead following motorcycle, semitrailer crash near Appleton

One person is dead following an Aug. 28 crash between a motorcycle and a semitrailer near Appleton.

At 8:53 p.m., Wisconsin State Patrol responded to the intersection of Outagamie County CB and Design Drive in Greenville, according to a news release from the state patrol.

In their preliminary investigation, officers determined a southbound Kawasaki motorcycle collided with a Freightliner, and the motorcyclist was fatally injured in the crash. The semi’s driver was not injured. The identities of those involved have not been released by law enforcement.

Both lanes of County CB were closed for several hours during the Wisconsin State Patrol Technical Reconstruction Unit’s investigation.

State patrol was assisted by Grand Chute police, Greenville first responders and firefighters, Appleton Airport’s fire department, Gold Cross Ambulance and Outagamie County’s sheriff’s office, highway department and coroner.
