Rams lose 4 recently cut players off waivers, including Willie Lampkin IV

The Los Angeles Rams waived 34 players in total on Tuesday as they trimmed their roster down to 53, and at least four of them will not be returning on the practice squad. On Wednesday, waiver claims were announced and the Rams lost four guys to other teams.

The most notable is perhaps Willie Lampkin IV, the standout rookie lineman who was dominant in the first preseason game. He was claimed by the Philadelphia Eagles and will now head to the East Coast.

Cornerback Derion Kendrick was also claimed off waivers by the Seattle Seahawks, Brennan Jackson was claimed by the Las Vegas Raiders and cornerback Charles Woods is heading to the New England Patriots after being claimed by Mike Vrabel’s team.

Had those players cleared waivers, the Rams would’ve had a chance to sign them back to the practice squad. But since they were claimed, they are now part of their new teams’ 53-man rosters.

The Rams can now begin assembling their practice squad after waivers were processed. There are 16 spots available on the practice squad, and just about all of them are expected to be filled by players they just released this week.
