He wasn’t in Ann Arbor for a long time, but he represented a lot of promise for a team that was looking to have a resurgence on the recruiting trail.
When Michigan basketball landed four-star forward Gregg Glenn III, it was an exciting pickup out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in the 2022 cycle. He was only with the Wolverines for one season (2022-23) and appeared in four games and had six total points, and six rebounds in that frame.
Glenn transferred to Tulane, where he started to find his groove. His first season in New Orleans saw him get into 30 games as a reserve, but the production just wasn’t there. However, this past season, he started all 34 of his game appearances and averaged 10.6 points per game.
However, sad news came on Monday, as Tulane announced that Glenn died in a tragic accident.
Dear Tulane Community,
It is with profound sadness that I reach out to you today. We have lost a cherished member of our university community, Gregg Glenn III, who died in a tragic accident this weekend. He was a talented student-athlete who enriched our lives with his spirit, dedication, and passion for both sports and academics.
Gregg was an outstanding athlete on our men’s basketball team and an individual who brought joy and light to those around him. His commitment to excellence inspired many of us.

With deepest sympathy,

Glenn was just 22 years old and had two more years of college game left, if he had wanted it — but he was trending toward a possible NBA career given his trajectory. According to NOLA.com, Glenn drowned off the coast of Miami.
