Vote for the 2024-25 Stark County High School Girls Coach of the Year

With the Stark County OHSAA sports season over for the 2024-25, we’re going to spend the next few weeks looking back at the best of the school year.

Your vote will determine Stark County Best of the School Year for teams, coaches and athletes.

We continue with who you think was the best girls high school coach of 2024-25. Each athlete’s credentials are listed above the poll — which will be live until 5 p.m. Thursday. The winner will be announced Friday morning on CantonRep.com. 

Now, let’s meet the candidates, who were selected by the Repository sports staff.

Here’s a look at the nominees for Stark County Girls Coach of the Year, in alphabetical order: 

Scott Daugherty, Perry softball

Helped the Panthers overcame a 2-9 start to the season to reach the state tournament in Division II before a 2-0 loss to Riverside in the state semifinals.

Adam Parker, Jackson softball

Led the Polar Bears to their first regional title since 1986 by reaching the Division I state semifinals before an 8-4 loss to Centerville.

Olivia Scott, Minerva cross country

Guided the Lions to their second straight Division II state championship. Ranked No. 1 in the state last fall, Minerva has won three cross country state titles in the last four years.

Stephanie Tortola, Marlington volleyball

Coached the Dukes to a Division IV state runner-up finish, as they reached their second straight state tournament and carried a 25-match win streak into the state finals to finish the season 27-2.
