National Ice Cream Day is set for Sunday, July 20. To celebrate, Brandini Toffee will be doing a free ice cream giveaway that day.

Brandini Toffee giving away new toffee ice cream bar

From noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 20, Brandini Toffee’s Rancho Mirage store, located at 42-250 Bob Hope Drive, will be treating customers with a free toffee ice cream bar if they have a Brandini Rewards account or they sign up for one (email entry).

Brandon Weimer, the founder of the beloved toffee company, said a new toffee ice cream bar will be distributed to customers, making them the first in the community to try it. He said the bar is “slightly different than what we serve in-store” currently, and the brand plans to launch it for prepacked sales this fall.

Brandini’s current ice cream bar consists of vanilla ice cream dipping in milk chocolate and topped with almond toffee crumbles.

Other places to get deals on National Ice Cream Day 2025

Plenty of other eateries in the Coachella Valley are offering sweet savings in time for this delectable holiday.

Dairy Queen announced it will be celebrating all week long, from July 14 through 20, with in-app deals. Patrons can receive a free Dilly Bar with an app order of $1 or more through the DQ App during the week. The deal can be used once and applies to one Dilly Bar per transaction.

Dairy Queen has locations in Bermuda Dunes and Indio.

Fast food restaurant Burger King is also giving away a free soft serve cup or cone on July 20 with any purchase of $1 or more for Royal Perks loyalty program members. Coachella Valley residents can take part in the celebration by visiting locations in Cathedral City, Coachella, Desert Hot Springs, Indio and Palm Desert.

Other spots are expected to announce deals leading up to July 20, so check their websites or social media pages. USA Today compiled a roundup of eateries and ice cream shops that offered free scoops to customers last year, many of which are expected to do the same later this month.

Best ice cream spots in the Coachella Valley

The Palm Springs area is boasting a number of delicious ice cream, gelato, custard and date shake spots.

The Desert Sun highlighted several favorites in its 2024 ice cream guide, including La Dolce Piccola Gelateria and Perfect Pint in Palm Desert, Great Shakes and Gelato Granucci in Palm Springs, Handel’s (locations in Indio, La Quinta and Palm Desert) and La Michoacana (locations in Coachella, Cathedral City, Desert Hot Springs and Indio).

A new offering is also coming to Palm Springs. A 1970s-themed, “super funky” Italian gelato shop called Gelato-A-Go-Go has announced plans to open in the former Jus Chillin ice cream and desert parlor space along Indian Canyon Drive. An opening date has not been announced, but people can sign up for email alerts on its website at www.gelatoagogo.net
