Szymon Zapala in consideration for Polish Senior Men's National Team

Szymond Zapala spent one season with Michigan State basketball, transferring to the Spartans after starting his career with Utah State and Longwood. Zapala had a solid season for MSU, providing some welcome size at the center position. Now, Zapala, who was born in Zaborze, Poland, is in consideration to join Poland’s Senior Men’s Basketball National Team to compete in FIBA’s international basketball events, which could include the 2028 Olympic games.

Zapala is already getting some run with the national team, playing in an upcoming EuroBasket tournament for Poland in late August. This will be a great opportunity for Zapala, who will be trying to find a landing spot in the EuroLeague, presumably, to continue his pro career.
