STURGIS — It’s time to vote for the Journal-area’s prep baseball player of the year.
This will be the second poll for player of the year honors. Last week, Olivia Herlein of Constantine was voted as the softball player of the year in our coverage area. I’m once again pleased that Glen Oaks Community College has been the local sponsor for our athlete of the week polls, each of the player of the year polls are brought to you by GOCC as well.
Herlein garnered more than 5,000 of the better than 21,000 total votes for the softball player of the year. This totaled just over 23.5% of the total votes cast. Congratulations to her!
The rules remain the same. You can vote as many times as you’d like. New to the polls recently is the option to vote for more than one athlete at a time, which is a pretty neat feature. By selecting more than one athlete, you don’t really have to choose between members of the same school, which I know some of you will like. The polls are open until Friday at 3:00 p.m.
