An 18-year-old has died from injuries in a single-vehicle rollover crash June 27 in Grimes, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
The driver, was identified as Jok Mayom Jr., 18, who died at a hospital on Monday, June 30, according to the news release. Mayom was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
Polk County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to the 700 block of NE Edgewood Drive in Grimes after a car rolled over on June 27, according to a news release. The driver was transported to a local hospital that day with severe injuries.
Investigators are still processing information from the crash site and gathering witness statements before their findings are determined, the news release said.
