Franklin High School boys track and field coach Lennie Brooks was voted the El Paso Children’s Hospital High School Coach of the Year.
Brooks earned 61,146 votes, followed by Erica Rodriguez of of Del Valle softball with 55,123 votes, Tevin Caldwell of Chapin boys basketball with 22,782 votes and Troy Douglas of Eastwood girls wrestling with 4,908 votes.
The 2024-25 high school sports season featured several standout individual achievements by many teams with the help of players and coaches.
Throughout the school year, the El Paso Times’ El Paso Children’s Hospital High School Athlete of the Week highlighted the individual accomplishments of El Paso athletes. However, in this week’s poll, the El Paso Times sought to recognize nominees for Coach of the Year.
Coaches in all varsity sports were eligible to be selected. In this end-of-the-school-year poll, voters were asked to vote for the Coach of the Year.
