FRENCHTOWN TWP, MI — A 38-year-old Flat Rock man died after a crash on North Dixie Highway on Sunday, June 22.
At 11:30 p.m., troopers from the Michigan State Police Monroe Post were dispatched to a single vehicle injury crash on North Dixie Highway, near Fernwood Street. Preliminary investigation revealed that a red Ford F-150 was traveling southbound on North Dixie Highway when it crossed over into the northbound travel lane. It jumped a curb on the east side of the roadway, struck a tree, and rolled onto its roof.
The driver was transported by Monroe Community Ambulance to Corewell Health Trenton Hospital, where he died of his injuries.
“Northbound and southbound N. Dixie Hwy. in the area of the crash, were closed intermittently for several hours while Troopers conducted an on-scene investigation,” Michigan State Police said in a release. “At this time, it is not believed that alcohol or drugs played a factor in the crash.”
