Cornerback prospect for Michigan State chooses Duke after official visit

Michigan State football has had a massive summer, cleaning up in the recruiting department, gaining over a dozen commitments, bringing their total up to 18 commits. Obviously, though, not every prospect that visited this month will end up in the green and white.

One prospect that has ended up elsewhere, Tyson Sanford, who made his commitment to Duke following his official visit to Durham. The Suwanee, Georgia native chose the Blue Devils over official visits Michigan State and Wake Forest.

As it pertains to Michigan State, Sanford was in the mix for the final defensive back spot along with other prospects that visited this month, Jaxson Gates and Jeremiah Favorite. Now, the Spartans will be turning to the latter two prospects for the final spot, following Sanford’s Duke commitment.

A 5-foot-11, 185 pound prospect that plays for Peachtree Ridge High School, Sanford is a 3-star prospect, according to 247Sports.
