Do the Detroit Tigers play today?
That’s a question more fans want to know, with their team holding the MLB’s best record at 43-24 and a seven-game lead in the American League Central Division over the Minnesota Twins.
After winning a three-game series against the National League Central-leading Chicago Cubs, the Tigers are in Baltimore for a three-game set against the Orioles from Tuesday-Thursday.
Do the Tigers play today?
Yes, the Tigers play today (Tuesday).
The Tigers visit the Orioles after a rest day Monday, which came after the team played 23 games in a 24-day stretch. Detroit will also get rest days the following three Mondays, the 16th, 23rd and 30th of June.
The Tigers just saw Comerica Park at its most electric so far this season, with the team hosting sellout crowds for all three games against the Cubs. It’s the first time the Tigers have sold out all three games of a home series this season.
After winning two of three games against the Cubs, the Tigers maintain MLB’s best record, and their seven-game lead in the division is the largest gap between a first and second-place team in any division.
The Orioles are currently in last place in the AL East after falling three games short of a division title in 2024. They entered the season as a playoff contender in a crowded division, but at more than 10 games under .500, they have had arguably the most disappointing season among all AL teams.
