Deputies responded to a call for service and discovered that the teenage suspect had assaulted a family member, officials said.

“While the assault was occurring, the juvenile made statements about killing the victim,” sheriff’s officials said in a written statement.

The victim suffered apparently minor injuries, and the teen was booked at a juvenile hall on suspicion of attempted murder. No weapons were involved in the incident.

Officials did not disclose the specific relationship between the suspect and victim, but described the victim as an adult family member.

No further information was available.
