Although the 2026 season is still over a year away, there is a lot of excitement building over what the future holds for the Texas Longhorns. With a star-studded recruiting class, Texas is set to continue its winning ways. That group will include four-star wide receiver Chris Stewart, who is coming off the best season of his high school career.
During his junior season, Stewart hauled in 60 receptions for 922 yards. He was a popular target in the end zone, adding 15 touchdowns to his resume. Due to his play, programs nationwide have continued to call, but his commitment to Texas has not wavered. That was clear after his latest visit to Austin.
“I feel great about things. It’s the same way I’ve felt, I’ve been a commit for a long time. I feel welcome every time I come into the building,” Stewart said, according to a post on X from Orangebloods.com’s Jason Suchomel.

Last weekend, Stewart was supposed to visit SMU. However, due to a track meet, he was in Austin, which presented an opportunity for another visit with the Longhorns. The visit reportedly went well, which is good news for Steve Sarkisian.
Stewart is currently the only wide receiver in the 2026 Texas football recruiting class. That should change over the next few months, but it is not a bad starting place for Texas. He has been a headache for defensive coordinators and made headlines regardless of who he is facing.
With Stewart in the mix, the Longhorns have at least one weapon they can count on in the future. Their 2026 class is currently ranked as the 13th best in the nation, but they are far from adding. It looks like they will be able to hold onto Stewart, which is key for the future.
