Facilities in the city can be easily reserved

Anyone wishing to utilize facilities in Marine City including the new Guy Center at the former Marine City Lions Hall, the Mariner Park Pavilion or the Mariner Bandstand, can now reserve space on the city website.
City Manager Jason Bell gave a brief presentation to the city council at their Feb. 20 meeting explaining the new reservation system on the city website at cityofmarinecity.org.
The website landing page or home page has a block of links or bubbles for users who can then simply scroll down to the link that states “Make A Reservation.” On the reservation page it first states that all rentals are for the full day. Then there are three steps to follow:
1. Select the property you would like to reserve.
2. Select the day on the calendar you would like to reserve
3. The time is already set for the full day, just say reserve that date.
“It’s a little bit cumbersome at this point because our payment system isn’t really cooperating with the website,” Bell said.
After selecting the facility the user is interested in renting they can click on that image on the webpage and all the pertinent information for that site is listed.
For example, if the Guy Center is the rental desired the page lists the charges as follows:
· $65/meeting-monthly reoccurring rentals (Social Organizations)
· $50 for weekly community events
· $225 for Guy Community Center Hall Rental
· $400 for Guy Community Center and Lions Pavilion
· $115 for Guy Community Center Hall Rental for Funerals

A calendar that allows people to rent facilities in Marine City was part of a presentation at the Feb. 20 meeting of the Marine City Commission.
· $125 Cleaning Fee if needed
The next step is to go to the calendar and scroll to the month and date to be reserved.
If the date is taken then it appears blank, all other dates will say Day Open on the calendar. The rental is from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Once the date is selected it can be reserved by clicking the reserve button on the right side of the calendar.
Moving through the reservation there’s a spot to comment on the event being booked, like wedding, birthday party or christening.
Next the system moves to the page with the actual agreement. Information like name, purpose of rental, which facility is being rented, period of use, purpose of use, a list of permitted uses and
limitations, fees, responsibilities, cancellations and refund policies, plus insurance and liability items are listed.
Once the agreement is filled out the user hit’s save and then submits it so the city gets the data electronically, signs the agreement and sends it back via email to the renter.
After that the city will send the renter an invoice for the rental. The user can then go online and find the invoice and pay right from their couch with a credit card or echeck. A notice that the reservation has been approved will be provided to the user after payment is made.
Bell said the site is still a work in progress and if anyone has any trouble with it, they can simply call the city offices and he or Deputy Clerk Carol Brown will respond.
At the end of the presentation Mayor Pro Tem Lisa Hendrick asked how the renter can show the city that they have insurance for their event. Bell said it can be submitted closer to the date of the event when the city requests the proof of liability insurance.
