We’re here today, gone tomorrow. “Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.” (James 4:14)
I know our time is short on this temporary home, so while we’re here, let’s shine bright. Let’s find out what would happen if we chase HIS WILL. “What you ought to say is, “If the Lord wants us to, we WILL LIVE and do this or that.” (James 4:15)
This life may be short, really don’t know the expiration date, but we can focus on shining bright for Christ. It’s a shooting star, the first 53 years have flown by, that’s why you have to live with a little sense of urgency. Time simply goes too fast. “Teach us to realize the brevity of life, so that we may grow in wisdom.” (Psalm 90:12)
Have you ever thought about the consequences of not doing something? The consequences of not taking a risk. Opportunities present themselves all the time. Snatch it, take it, and find out what becomes of it. Try not to fear the negative consequences, the focus should always be on the gains, the positive consequences. In other words, live, engage, participate, get involved, be a doer, be adventurous, be curious, be open, embrace all the opportunities. Because “this” always leads to “that” so you have to take leaps of faith that will lead to progressive leaps.
When my time is done, I want to hear “well done, good and faithful servant.” (Matthew 25:23) The vision is to be surrounded by love on our death bed. How do you make that happen. Learn to radiate love, let love be abundant in you. “We love because He first loved us.” (1 John 4:19) True love doesn’t hide, you can see it in the eyes. This is why you have to get your heart right and get authentic. “Jesus didn’t tell us to be right. He told us to be loving.” Craig Groeschel
We can rest in quiet assurance. “In quietness and confidence is your strength.” (Isaiah 30:15) Trusting God is a major part of our life, it becomes who we are, it’s deeply ingrained in us. We confidently “walk by faith, not by sight.” (2 Corinthians 5:7)
Shed the heaviness, the parts that are weighing you down, because your life is in front of you, keep creating, keep growing, continue to evolve and shape yourself to grow into who Christ is transforming you into.
“For a tree there is always hope. Chop it down and it still has a chance. Its roots can put out fresh sprouts. Even if its roots are old and gnarled, and stump long dormant. At the first whiff of water it comes to life, buds and grows like a sapling.” (Job 14:7-9)
