Mott Lake Regatta: “War of the Wake” Returns to Flint’s Bluebell Beach

The Mott Lake Regatta, known as the War of the Wake,” is set to make a thrilling return to Flint, Michigan, on August 9–10, 2025. Hosted at Bluebell Beach, this high-speed hydroplane racing event promises two days of adrenaline-pumping action and family-friendly entertainment.

High-Speed Racing on Mott Lake

Organized by Marine Prop Riders, the third annual regatta will feature hydroplane boats from multiple states competing on a one-mile oval course. Spectators can expect to witness seven to eight different classes of racing, with boats reaching speeds up to 120 miles per hour.

  • Time: 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. both days
  • Location: Bluebell Beach, 5500 Bray Road, Flint, MI 48505
  • Admission: $20 per carload for one day or $30 for both days
  • Amenities: Food trucks, beer tent, kids’ splash pad, and drivers’ autograph sessions
