Paul Urben, former St. Clair County “We the County” leader, was recently appointed to the St. Clair County Health Advisory Board. He decided to apply for the position because he feels the government will go to violate individual autonomy from vaccines, parents’ rights and informed consent.
The Board’s meetings are the third Wednesday of the month at 9 am in the County Commissioner meeting room. It is also live streamed.
Jacobson V Massachusetts
Court upheld the authority of states to enforce compulsory vaccination laws. The Court’s decision articulated the view that individual liberty is not absolute and is subject to the police power of the state. Challenged on the 5th and 14th amendments.
Buck V Bell
While Buck V. Bell did not authorize the government to necessarily kill women, it did authorize the government to forcibly sterilize women the state thought were birthing imbeciles. This forced sterilization procedure ultimately led to the death of women by depression or by loss of life after the sterilization procedure.
